The village Untermettingen: Eine Gemeinde mit Charme

Untermettingen is the southest of the eight villages of the community Ühlingen-Birkendorf, and it is situated at an altitude between 492 and 715 m in the middle of the wonderful "Steinatal" in the east part of the total community. The village with its 700 inhabitants covers a territory of altogether 1358 ha. An elementary school and a nursery school in the village, the nearness to the centre Ühlingen ( 4 km ) as well as the functioning traffic conditions to Waldshut-Tiengen, that all has developed Untermettingen into an attractive living community in the Steinatal. In the village there are altogether ca 100 places for working in the local enterprises of crafts. Besides the village Untermettingen has at its disposal a very well extended agriculture with a few big enterprises.
